The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the team reach locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
